Sailing through the southwestern part of the Frisian lakes has become even more attractive. The construction of five aqueducts is a boon for water sports enthusiasts; it’s now possible to just sail through instead of waiting for bridges.
This beautiful sailing route in the south-west of Friesland takes you along two large lakes: the Sleattemer Mar and the Fleuzen. In addition, you sail a beautiful stretch through the forest, across the Luts.
The big water of the IJsselmeer beckons: between Lemmer and Workum, you sail along the largest lake in the Netherlands. From the water, you can see the Friesian coast passing by with authentic church towers, such as that of Hindeloopen.
